Contact your building janitor in advance, at the telephone number provided in your Welcome Letter, to reserve elevator time (if applicable), and pick up keys. |
| 2. |
Make a reservation for your movers or your rental truck well in advance, because the closer to your move date you try to make your reservation, the less flexibility you will have in making your move. |
| 3. |
If you use professional movers, make sure to use a reputable moving company that is both licensed and insured. We suggest that you check with the City to ensure that your mover's license is current, and that you require your mover to provide proof of liability insurance. |
| 4. |
Contact the appropriate utility companies at least a week in advance to activate new service in your name. |
| 5. |
After moving in, please acquaint yourself with the building and its facilities, including the location of the laundry room and the Service Request Box. |
| 6. |
Please notify us of any defects or damage in your apartment immediately in order that we can arrange for any necessary repairs. |
| 7. |
Put your name inside your mailbox; the U.S. Postal Service will not deliver mail to a mailbox unless the addressee's name is listed on the mailbox. Within a week or two, your building janitor will install your permanant mailbox and buzzer system nameplates. |
